On Sunday 05, August 2018, with the cooperation from Chet Borey District Governor, Chief of Bos Leav commune and local authorities, PPSP’s employees provided humanitarian aid to 200 families suffering flood damage in eight villages in Bos Leav commune, Chet Borey district, Kratie province.
As informed by commune officials, the reason of this flood is due to the collapse of a hydropower dam in Laos. The water that had flowed from Laos into the Sekong River really made the water level of the rivers rise substantially and inundate some areas. Some schools in Chet Borey district have been shuttered to prevent accidents. Many houses are flooded, and people need to take their animals to higher ground.
Each of 200 families was very excited to receive our humanitarian aid including rice, tent, canned fish, instant noodles, fish sauce, soy sauce, salt, and drinking water.
