The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training in collaboration with the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration, Samdech Techo Youth Volunteer Doctors’ Association, and Phnom Penh Health Department, has launched a health checkpoint from 20 to 24 April 2020 inside PPSEZ to check the health of factory workers and employees who took leave during Khmer New Year and returned to work in the factories in PPSEZ.
The purpose of this health check was to protect the health of factory workers and employees who came to work during Khmer New Year as well as to promote a safe environment for customers inside the zone.
During a 5-day physical examination in PPSEZ, 1,588 workers and employees were screened by Samdech Techo Youth Volunteer Doctors for both travel history and symptoms of COVID-19, and 57 workers were found symptoms and sent to Quarantine Center 2 (QC2) in Chumpou Voan High School to further check for COVID-19. After testing, all received a NAGATIVE result, and they were directed to self-isolate at home or dormitory for 14 days before returning to work.
We are joining hands with the government, local
authority, all related ministries and customers to promote a healthy and safe
environment at workplace as well as to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Cambodia.
