Phnom Penh SEZ Co., Ltd. (PPSEZ) today signed an agreement with Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation aimed at strengthening marketing activities to attract more Japanese investors Phnom Penh SEZ. Sumitomo Corporation is one of the largest diversified corporations in Japan and has been engaged in a range of industrial parks in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand for over 20years. Sumitomo has been one of the largest investors in Phnom Penh SEZ too, with local subsidiary Sumi Wiring Systems Co. LTD opening a plant in 2011.
Phnom Penh SEZ has sold out Phase 1 and is now developing 90ha in Phase 2 which has a range of plots available to investors. Hiroshi Uematsu, Managing Director of Phnom Penh SEZ says that “by tying up with Sumitomo Corporation, we will attract more major investors and continue to develop a range of supplying industries on our zone, and by strengthening our marketing activities as a whole we position ourselves for a possible expansion of Phnom Penh SEZ, or for developing another Industrial Park in future.”
PPSEZ today accommodates 22 Japanese companies such as Ajinomoto, Minebea, Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Yamaha Motors etc.
