Phnom Penh SEZ participated in the meetings by UNDP in New York City.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invited Phnom Penh SEZ Plc.’s Chairwoman Lok Chumteav Oknha Lim Chhiv Ho and CEO Hiroshi Uematsu to ‘SPECIAL HIGH-LEVEL MINISTERIAL EVENT, Creating a Policy Vision for SDG Finance, Facilitating Private Sector Investment in the SDGs’ held on 20 September 2017 at United Nations (UN) Headquarters, New York City.  This event was organized during the General Assembly of UN as a sub-event focusing on private sector investment in the Social Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs consist of 17 Goals to Transform Our World including 1: No Poverty, 2: Zero Hunger, 3: Good Health and Well-being, 4: Quality Education, 5: Gender Equality, 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, 10: Reduced Inequalities, 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, 13: Climate Action, 14: Life Below Water, 15: Life on Land, 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and 17 Partnerships for the Goals

On 21 September, Chairwoman and CEO paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Haoliang Xu, UN Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP Assistant Administrator and the Pacific Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific.  Mr. Xu assured to fully support Phnom Penh SEZ to realize the spirit of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between UNDP and Phnom Penh SEZ in 29 June, 2017.  The MOU between UNDP and Phnom Penh SEZ has served as the very first agreement under the new United Nations Social Impact Fund (UNSIF) on the establishment of partnerships between UNDP and social impact investors to ensure the achievement of the SDGs by 2030.
