Opening Ceremony of the First Thai Company in PPSEZ, March 16th, 2016

Betagro (Cambodia) Company Limited is the child company of Betagro in Thailand, which is the first company from Thailand to invest in Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone to manufacture animal feed for the domestic and international markets.

After several months of construction work, the company finally celebrated their Grand Opening Ceremony on March 16th, 2016, under the presidency of H.E. Uk Rabun, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery, presence of the Company’s top rank managements and staffs, and other related parties.

According to Mr. Vasit Taepaisitphongse, CEO of the company, Cambodia is a highly potential market for the animal feed products having the need of about 600,000 Tons of animal feed per year, and expected to increase eventually. This is the reason why the company decided to invest in Cambodia. Betagro in Cambodia is scheduled to produce 261,000 Tons of cows, pigs, and chickens’ feed per year to supply to the local market, and to increase the production capacity gradually.

H.E. Uk Rabun, Minster of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery, pointed out the benefits that Cambodia will get from the investment of Betagro, being the more need for the domestic agricultural products, and the more job opportunities at both the farms and the factory of Betagro itself.

PPSEZ is honored to have this prestigious company from Thailand to invest in our zone. And we will try harder to improve our facilities and services for more Thai companies to come to invest.
