Cleantech Solar Corporation and Phnom Penh SEZ signed off on a partnership to increase the clean energy mix at the industrial estate and to reduce energy costs.

Phnom Penh, 4th February 2016 - The two companies, represented by Stephen Evans, Owner Representative of Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone and Arnaud Ayral, Regional Business Development Director of Cleantech Solar Corporation, have agreed on contract terms. A new solar panel system should be operational by the end of April 2016.

"Phnom Penh SEZ is committed to being a socially responsible company and is always looking for ways to save tenants money. As a result, we've naturally explored the feasibility of installing solar panels in the zone. Cleantech Solar offered the best overall package of technology, price, certainty of delivery and after-sales service. We felt that the company would be a very good partner for Phnom Penh SEZ”, said Evans.

Cleantech Solar Corporation is a Singaporean enterprise operating in 6 countries in Asia offering solar technology solutions, especially for industrial customers. "Phnom Penh SEZ will operate the system and generate electricity themselves, we are leasing the equipment to them and make sure it is properly designed and installed, and we provide the technical support - our client doesn’t have to take performance risks," said Arnaud Ayral.

According to Bob Anderson, Deputy CEO of LCH Investment Group and in charge of spearheading Phnom Penh SEZ’s (a subsidiary of LCH Investment Group) drive to provide additional, clean power options to the estate and its customers, the integration of the technology to the zone will be smooth: "We initially install panels on the administration building as a showcase to test the system and to gain operational experiences with the system. We will have a monitor set up in our lobby showing the energy that is generated, and the amount of carbon that we save every day."

For Arnaud Ayral, Phnom Penh SEZ is definitely thinking ahead by opting for solar power. "There is a lot of interest in the market but only a small number of companies have made a decisive step so far. Phnom Penh SEZ is putting itself in the front row. For their business, as well as for the community and the environment this is an important step."
