From November 2nd to 6th, 2015, a training program by Japan-Thailand Economic Cooperation Society (JTECS) is conducted in PPSEZ under the title “Professional Employee Development Program”.
JTECS is a general incorporated association which has been entrusted by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan to conduct the “Trade Investment Promotion Project”. This project aims to support overseas expansion of small and medium sized Japanese enterprises in developing countries as well as to activate trade investment with developing countries. The training program in Phnom Penh, particularly in PPSEZ, is conducted with the cooperation of Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) (TPA).
PPSEZ has supported this training program in terms of location and some preparations since 2014. The training program in 2015 receives the participation from about 60 participants from various companies both inside and outside of PPSEZ. The participants are divided into two groups to attend the 2 and a half days program consecutively. This time the training program focuses on the productivity, 5S, Kaizen and QC.
The admission to the program is free of charge and JTECS also provides training documents and certificate to participants. It is a good chance for Cambodian staffs to learn new skills and to develop themselves as well as to meet new people. So we highly hope that METI and JTECS conducts this training every year and hope more and more people will join the training.
