On Friday the 2nd of October, PPSEZ’s top management gathered at the Siam Commercial Bank head office in Bangkok, where we held our second seminar in 2015 aimed at Thai and international investors.
With Siam Commercial Bank as our co-organizer, on the same day, we conducted two different seminars in two languages (Japanese and Thai) for Japanese investors in Thailand and for local Thai investors. 27 participants showed up in the morning session conducted in Japanese, and 62 participants attended the afternoon session conducted in Thai.
From Cambodia, we had Mr. Taro Tanzaki from JICA, responsible for the Japan Desk Section in CDC; Mr. Hiroshi Uematsu, CEO of PPSEZ; and Ms. Carie Phou, company secretary and disclosure officer of PPSEZ, as speakers who shared information to participants about the benefits and merits of investing in Cambodia as well as specialties of PPSEZ and also the introduction to our new project in Poi Pet area.
"We believe that the AEC will increase the opportunities for more investment between ASEAN countries. It is a major reason for Thai companies to tap into the Cambodian work force and to take advantage of the many incentives that support their investment here," says Ms. Phou.
Moreover, we had the great honor to have presentation done by Ms. Chittima Hongladaromp, Head of Business Development for GMS, Siam Commercial Bank, who highlighted the good prospects of the Cambodian economy and the increasing number of opportunities for business in the country. And Mr. Worrawut Vanitkulbodee, vice president of Betagro Plc., a renown Thai animal feed producer which came to invest in our zone in 2012, shared his success story and experiences about investing in Cambodia and especially in PPSEZ.
"Our decision to invest in the country was guided by the constant evolution of its annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which keeps increasing, alongside the advantageous investment law and the abundance of a strong young workforce that the country can provide. We see Cambodia as a strategic base for expansion and export of our product in Asia” said Mr. Worrawut Vanitkulbodee.
We considered it a great success and strongly believe that the seminar got more investors interested in investing in our zones.
