Another premium Japanese brand is set to establish itself at Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone.
Phnom Penh, 25th September 2015 - Toyota Cambodia and Phnom Penh SEZ gathered this afternoon at the offices of LCH Investment Group for an official signing ceremony. One of the largest automakers in the world is building a new facility at Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone.
The two companies, represented by Madam Lok Chumteav Okhna Lim Chhiv Ho, Chairwoman of Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone and Oknha Kong Nuon, chairman of Toyota Cambodia, have agreed on contract terms. The transaction involves the purchase of 5.3 ha of land from Phnom Penh SEZ by the Japanese brand distributor.
"Cambodia’s economy is growing every year and we want to take the opportunity to invest in the country now. Phnom Penh SEZ offers all the characteristics we are looking for, especially important economic advantages. The location is perfect and convenient for our customers. We trust that Phnom Penh SEZ is the best partner for our development in the Kingdom” said Okhna Kong Nuon.
Construction work will start at the beginning of 2016 and is to include a showroom, office, warehouse and a training center. The new facility is to be completed by the middle of 2016.
"We are very excited to welcome Toyota at Phnom Penh SEZ. We have been working very hard for 8 years now to establish our zone with its high standards and international management" said Mme Lim. “We are proud that this famous Japanese brand has chosen us to set up some of their key operations in Cambodia”.
Following the arrival of Coca-Cola a few months ago, the industrial estate once again proves its ability to attract international groups that wish to set up their operations in the zone, attracted by the wide range of economic privileges Phnom Penh SEZ has to offer. This most recent signing reinforces the importance of Japanese investors in Phnom Penh SEZ and for Cambodia, which now stands at no less than 34 companies operating in the zone.
