Since 2014, PPSEZ has started the project of periodical study tours in which we invite some local authorities from different parts of the country to come to visit our zone. The main purpose of inviting them to visit our zone is to have them actually see and experience what kind of place PPSEZ really is, what kinds of jobs are available here in various factories, and what kind of working and living conditions workers in PPSEZ are having. And we hope to receive their support in explaining to and attract their villagers who are looking for jobs to come to work in our zone.
We conducted 4 times of study tours in 2014, and plan to do 3 times in 2015. On August 21st and 22nd, 2015, the second tour of 2015 was conducted. For this second study tour, PPSEZ invited 16 local authorities from 6 different provinces namely Battambang, Kompong Thom, Prey Veng, Takeo, Pursat and Kompot. As always we shouldered all the expenses for the transportation, food and accommodation.
First of all, we conducted a presentation to make them understand about our zone, and job opportunities in various factories. Then we invited them to visit some factories that have agreed to cooperate with us on this project. Those are Artnature (Cambodia) Inc., Clean Circle Co., Ltd., Denso (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., Minebea (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., and Sumi (Cambodia) Wiring Systems Co., Ltd. At each factory, all the authorities could see by themselves what kind of work workers are actually doing, and what kind of conditions they are working in. Some even asked the workers they met about their feelings and working and living conditions etc.
All the authorities seemed interested in the jobs opportunities available in our zone. They said they would help us spread the information about jobs in our zone to their villagers and to encourage them to come to work here.
Through them we believe that information about PPSEZ will reach more and more people. And we will keep trying our best to improve our services in different ways in order to attract more investors to come to invest in our zone, so that we can help contribute to create more job opportunities for Cambodian people.
